March Monthly Progress: Savings $3500.00

Oh March. What a whirlwind you’ve been. Filled with unexpected emergencies, spending over the budgeted amount, tax refund, job interviews, and now I’m ending you with a new but similar budget than before. I must admit at least my eBay sales were pretty awesome. I was so happy that I wasn’t bum at all with two return I had.It obvious that the only attempt at saving anything was to NOT SPEND ALL OF THE TAX REFUND. SO high-five to you March because you ended with this family’s savings account at: $3500.00.

We didn’t put the WHOLE refund into our savings. We did splurge on a few things. My husband bought a pipe, purchased 2 new cat trees for our 3 cats (one for upstairs and the other for downstairs), paid for one of our cats vet visit, and I pulled out $200 to try Amazon FBA ( My new online venture in addition to eBay..will blog more in the future).

I still haven’t found a part-time/full-time job but to be honest I’m not hitting the pavement as hard as I should. I hope this month I’ll get some interviews going. My husband doesn’t think I need one since we are paying all of our bills and starting to save a little, but it would be amazing if whatever part-time job I get I would put all I’ve earned there in our savings.

As for my eBay sales It ended doubled from last year but like I blogged before I ended up spending all my profits on things we stocked up on ( food/household items). Hopefully this Amazon FBA will work. I already sent out four boxes to them and hopefully they receive all my items a-ok. I was lucky enough to pull items from my eBay stock to send to them (stuff that isn’t selling). It’s just time to find another income stream because it’s 2nd quarter and eBay usually slows down in sales due to people going on vacation.

By the way April 15th is just around the corner. Did you file your taxes?

That’s great! Getting a nice refund gets a bad rap because people view it as the gov borrowing your money interest free. I don’t feel that way. This year it is a saving grace for us just in case we have an emergency.
